Breaking up is never easy. However, like some relationships, ending the love affair you have with your mattress tends to take much longer than it should. Whether it be denial, or simply not knowing when to say goodbye – The time has come to learn when it’s over.
Signs it’s over
Killing me softly
Wake up in pain often? A tell-tale sign your mattress is no longer providing your body the support it needs. Have you ever heard of a spine transplant? No, me neither. So, take care of the one you have and get a new mattress.
While your bedding may make your bed look great – The truth lies beneath the sheets. Next time you’re making the bed, take a good look at your mattress. If it looks worn, saggy or lumpy- it’s time for a replacement.
Somebody’s sleeping in my bed
Unfortunately, we aren’t the only things sleeping in our bed. Over time our bed can become the home to many unwanted guests such as mold, mildew, dead skin cells, dust mites and other things we can’t see. If you notice that you start sneezing before bed or in the morning when you wake, guess what? You might need a new mattress.
Sleeping with the enemy
If you’re getting a better night sleep sleeping anywhere other than your own bed, chances are you need a new mattress.
Age is more than just a number
Age affects everything. If it were as simple as a number, well, we’d never have to change anything. But as we know it, with age comes change. Like us, our mattresses get old and simply aren’t what they used to be. Although your mattress may not appear to be ready for retirement, if it’s older than seven years old you may want to consider replacing it.
If any of these signs are present in your current mattress affair, it’s time to say goodbye. Out with the old and in with the new. Be sure to do your research and shop around to find the right mattress. Just think, if you could love the wrong mattress, imagine how much you’ll love your new mattress.
